Motor vehicle accidents: High speed crash injures 1 in Oregon

A recent multiple-vehicle accident has reportedly left one person with serious injuries and caused substantial damage to a nearby retirement home in Oregon. Motor vehicle accidents that take place at high speeds can have disastrous consequences. Those who suffer severe harm in similar incidents may face a variety of hardships in life, physical and financial alike, and they may be uncertain where to turn for guidance in pursuing restitution.

Authorities say they received reports of a multiple-vehicle accident on a recent Wednesday night. According to reports, the incident involved as many as three vehicles, and while many of the details concerning how it occurred remain unclear, police have stated that the impact of the collision sent one vehicle airborne. This vehicle reportedly flew as high as 10 feet before slamming into the side of a nearby retirement complex.

Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders reportedly worked to free one of the victims from within a vehicle and rushed him or her to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries. Witnesses also say that there was a dog in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and the dog unfortunately suffered fatal injuries in the process. Police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the crash and have stated that speed appears to have been a contributing factor.

Motor vehicle accidents involving a speeding driver can have devastating consequences. Those who suffer harm or loss due to another party's negligence may wish to pursue restitution accordingly, but the civil justice system can be challenging to navigate alone. Fortunately, there are attorneys in Oregon that can examine the incident and assist a person in pursuing the full amount of restitution entitled through a claim against the party or parties deemed responsible.
